Straka Little Big Mash

Straka Little Big Mash comes from the high-altitude vineyards of Eisenberg, Austria, where organically farmed vines thrive in mineral-rich greenschist soils. This blend of 70% Welschriesling, 15% Weissburgunder, and 15% Sauvignon Blanc benefits from the unique terroir, which provides both heat retention for ripeness and excellent drainage for purity. Crafted by Tom Straka, the grapes spend four days on their skins to enhance texture and structure before undergoing native fermentation. Most of the wine ages in steel, with 30% maturing in used oak casks, preserving freshness while adding depth.  

The result is an aromatic and vibrant wine bursting with notes of citrus, stone fruit, and white flowers, complemented by a deep minerality that reflects its origin. The skin contact lends a lightly grippy texture, balanced by bright acidity and a touch of salinity. Unfiltered and unfined, it retains its natural character, making it both expressive and complex.
